Amanda Whitehurst is a former elementary and middle school teacher with a Masters of Engineering in STEM for Middle School from ASU. She was a founding board member of STEMteachersPHX, was chosen as a AAPT/AAP Master Teacher Policy Fellow, successfully advocated for legislative funding for the STEM Teacher Professional Development Pilot Program, and was part of the team that developed and implemented the OAS Inter-American Teacher Education Network in Arizona. She is currently the Co-Principal investigator for the Arizona STEM Acceleration Project; a $10M grant from the ADE which in its first year supported over 450 STEM teachers across Arizona and impacted almost 90K students.
